Kate Bolton

Professional Artist and Tutor

My first love is for watercolours but I also enjoy oils and pastels (particularly for portraits).

My inspiration comes from many different quarters but increasingly my paintings have to 'tell a story' and often include figures.

You are welcome to come and see my small gallery at our 18th century (ex-vicarage) home in historic Brading on the Isle of Wight

I moved to the Isle of Wight in 1997 and find it offers plenty of inspiration for the painter.  I established a business - 'wightwatercolour' -which perfectly combines my lifetime passion of painting with a career in teaching and training.

I started my career as a teacher and later, after gaining a Masters Degree in Further Education and Training, I moved into adult training-courses.

This has equipped me for running residential painting breaks at our 18th Century home in Brading, teaching weekly classes, and regular workshops in my studio.

I demonstrate and exhibit regularly on the Island and accept commissions - often portraits of family, pets, homes, boats, or favourite places.
